Sav-Rx to Join the MedImpact Family of Companies

Investment will strengthen Sav-Rx’s longstanding commitment to the American worker. The company’s leadership, mission, and values remain unchanged

Freemont, NE – September 29, 2025 – Sav-Rx, the nation’s only pharmacy benefit manager founded and operated for organized labor, by organized labor, today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by MedImpact, with the transaction expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025. In doing so, Sav-Rx will gain the strength and resources of the largest independent pharmacy benefit and health solutions providers in the country.

Founded in 1968, Sav-Rx has built its reputation on providing personalized, transparent, and union-focused pharmacy benefit services to millions of members nationwide. That mission will not change. Sav-Rx will continue to deliver the high-touch service, union-first values, and industry-best cost savings that have defined it for more than five decades.

“Our clients have trusted us for generations because we understand labor and the needs of the American worker,” said Christy Piti, CEO of Sav-Rx. “By joining MedImpact, we will gain the backing of a nationally respected company while maintaining the leadership, values, and service that our clients know and count on. This is not about changing who we are—it’s about ensuring we can serve our unions and their members even better in the years ahead.”

San Diego-based MedImpact is the nation’s largest independent pharmacy benefit and health solutions company. By combining Sav-Rx’s patient-centered expertise with MedImpact’s scale, technology, and clinical strength, the two companies will expand Sav-Rx’s ability to deliver lower costs, better patient outcomes, and exceptional service to the labor market. As an independent company, MedImpact is uniquely able to provide Sav-Rx the freedom and flexibility to serve union clients just as it always has—while adding the support to do it even better.

“Sav-Rx has an extraordinary leadership team and a remarkable history of standing shoulder-to-shoulder with unions and workers,” said Frederick Howe, MedImpact’s Chairman and CEO. “We look forward to supporting their continued success.”

Sav-Rx will continue to operate in Fremont, NE, with continuity in current operations and leadership, now with the added benefit of MedImpact’s resources and innovations.

“I am excited to be joining the MedImpact family because we share the same values, philosophy, and member-first approach,” added Christy Piti. “Because of this alignment, this partnership will only make us stronger for the unions and working families we proudly serve.”
