  • Frederick Howe

    Frederick Howe

    Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

    Frederick Howe is Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and founder of MedImpact Healthcare Systems, Inc., the nation's largest privately held full-service pharmacy benefit manager, with 47 million covered lives.

    Over three decades, Mr. Howe's vision has led to technological breakthroughs and other important changes in the way pharmacy claims are processed and paid every day for millions of consumers. Today, under his leadership, MedImpact is at the forefront of developing new ways to use formularies, disease management and medical data to improve the quality and value of healthcare.

    He has served on the Schering-Plough Advisory Board and the Scripps Foundation for Medicine and Science, and is an active member in the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy and several other industry organizations.

    A dedicated philanthropist, Mr. Howe supports the American Red Cross, Rady Children's Hospital of San Diego, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of America, March of Dimes, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, among many others.

  • James Gollaher, CPA

    James Gollaher, CPA

    Chief Financial Officer

    James Gollaher, CPA, serves as the Chief Financial Officer of MedImpact Healthcare Systems and has primary oversight over the financial and international operations of the business.

    Since joining the company in 2007, James has held several management roles, including most recently serving as the Vice President, Controller.

    Prior to joining MedImpact, he held several senior financial positions over the past 25 years at a variety of software, technology and pharmaceutical companies, including Harte-Hanks, Spescom Software and Questcor Pharmaceuticals.

    James holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Redlands and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from San Diego State University.

  • Thomas E. Hutton

    Thomas E. Hutton

    Chief Human Resources Officer

    As Chief Human Resources Officer, Thomas E. Hutton is responsible for developing and executing on MedImpact Healthcare Systems' people strategies worldwide.

    Mr. Hutton brings nearly three decades of experience to the executive leadership team at MedImpact Healthcare Systems, having served in leadership positions at Fortune 500 companies such as Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, Amgen, Inc. and The Coca Cola Company.

    Mr. Hutton is a strategic change agent who has successfully transformed human resources departments from transactional, compliance-focused organizations to highly-consultative contributors who align people strategies with positive business results.

    Mr. Hutton holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Delaware, is an MBA candidate/Executive MBA, Fairleigh Dickinson University and is a certified Para Professional Counselor — University of Delaware.

  • Dave Halter, MBA

    Dave Halter, MBA

    Senior Vice President, Strategic Finance Operations

    As Senior Vice President of Strategic Finance Operations, Dave Halter leads the enterprise strategy group, which is responsible for prioritizing and managing corporate strategic capital investment dollars. In this capacity, Mr. Halter heads MedImpact revenue planning, optimization and management, and also partners with sales, marketing and operations to provide strategic business support.

    Prior to joining MedImpact, Mr. Halter held leadership positions at Merck-Medco, where he built a new business unit to deliver improvements in consumer communications, achieve operating efficiencies, and drive the company toward a stronger consumer focus.

    Mr. Halter holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Boston College, where he graduated magna cum laude, and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School.

  • Virginia Howe, PharmD

    Virginia Howe, PharmD

    Senior Vice President, Health Services

    Virginia Howe is a 12-year MedImpact veteran with PBM experience built on many roles and responsibilities within Health Services. As SVP of Health Services, Dr. Howe is responsible for the development and management of multiple quality clinical programs to improve healthcare and reduce the drug spend for MedImpact’s clients. These programs are evidence-based with metrics focused on innovative strategies to improve health outcomes and optimize client’s return on investment. The approaches include but are not limited to unique formulary designs, cost management tools, advanced analytics and expert clinical consultative services.

    Before joining MedImpact, Dr. Howe worked more than 30 years as a clinical pharmacist in ambulatory, critical care and anticoagulation clinics at several major teaching hospitals including Stanford University Hospital, Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and San Francisco General Hospital.

    Dr. Howe holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of California San Francisco and an undergraduate degree from University of California at Berkeley.

  • Lisa Varrato, Chief Client Experience Officer

    Chief Client Experience Officer

    As a member of the executive leadership team, Lisa Varrato focuses on building, growing, and nurturing relationships with customers as soon as they become our client partners. Ms. Varrato oversees key internal divisions that interact with our client partners on a day-to-day basis, including account management, clinical products/services development, formulary administrative services, and our rebate optimization teams. Her division translates client needs into strategic direction by coordinating across the enterprise to meet or exceed clients’ expectations. She has a wealth of knowledge and proven success on partnering with our clients to accomplish common goals.

    Ms. Varrato most recently held the position of Senior Vice President, Trade Relations, and focused on maximizing MedImpact’s corporate rebate positioning. She developed and managed the rebate strategy and oversight of our rebate vendor management activities in alignment with our customer goals. She and her team worked closely with sales and account management and clinical leaders to develop and implement market competitive rebate initiatives that best suit the needs of our customers.

    As the prior Senior Vice President of Account Management, Ms. Varrato and her team have ensured overall satisfaction, retention, and growth of our customers, since 2017. She has a proven track record of helping the organization achieve improved client satisfaction by driving flexible solutions to optimize customer experience and assists customers with their business and financial objectives through their partnership with MedImpact.

    Ms. Varrato has been instrumental in leading our account teams in various roles to ensure overall client success through organizational support while obtaining retention and growth objectives since 2006. She has over 31 years of healthcare industry expertise in pharmacy benefit management, with areas of focus including rebates, sales and account management, government programs, and operations.

    Ms. Varrato is a proud military veteran.

     

  • Nancy Radtke

    Nancy S. Radtke, Esq.

    Senior Vice President, Corporate Services and General Counsel

    As senior corporate counsel, Nancy Radtke is responsible for all aspects of MedImpact's corporate governance, legal operations and regulatory compliance. She is an expert in corporate and healthcare law, including litigation, contracting, risk analysis, and federal and state PBM regulations. Ms. Radtke also is engaged in creating client-specific solutions to complex legal and regulatory mandates. She is a credentialed mediator with extensive experience in dispute resolution.

    As state and federal regulatory policies have changed, Ms. Radtke has helped MedImpact maintain the highest levels of compliance, and has helped the company's clients navigate the new rules and mandates.

    Ms. Radtke has been a member of the State Bar of California since 1991, has a law degree from National University (now Thomas Jefferson) School of Law, a Bachelor of Science from Northern Arizona University, and a Master's degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

    Krista Kelley

    Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing

    As Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Krista Kelley leads MedImpact’s Sales, Marketing and Product, and Business Proposals teams and partners with others across the enterprise to penetrate new markets and generate new business to assist the organization in achieving its multi-year growth targets, to exceed customer expectations and to drive strong business results.

    Ms. Kelley joined MedImpact in 2018, and quickly rose through the ranks to her most recent role as Vice President, Sales and Strategic Relations. In that time, she has been instrumental in entering agreements with countless government, commercial, higher education, and Taft-Hartley health plans to deliver MedImpact pharmacy benefit management solutions.

    Ms. Kelley has more than 30 years of experience including senior positions at Express Scripts and Merck-Medco. Ms. Kelley studied at Allegheny Community College and Columbia University.

  • Denise Burns - Chief Operations Officer

    Denise Burns

    Chief Operations Officer

    As Chief Operations Officer, Denise provides leadership to Operations, Government Programs and Services, and Health Services.

    Denise previously held the position of Vice President, Account Management, where she provided oversight to MedImpact’s managed care clients on the West coast, including commercial, Managed Medicaid, Medicare Part D, and health insurance Marketplace clients. Denise provided guidance on Account Management team strategy, client growth, client retention, and service excellence. Since joining MedImpact in 1993, Denise has been a key contributor to MedImpact’s growth and success, bringing experience and success from her multiple leadership roles, including new business implementation, client services, accounts receivable, benefit configuration management, pharmacy network operations, contact center, and operations.

    Prior to joining MedImpact, Denise worked in a variety of pharmacy settings including retail, home infusion, and HMO health plans. She has more than 41 years of experience in the healthcare industry.

  • Madhu Sanam  - Chief Digital and Information Officer

    Madhu Sanam

    Chief Digital & Information Officer

    Madhu Sanam serves as the Chief Digital & Information Officer of MedImpact Healthcare Systems and leads software development, IT Operations & Networking.

    Ms. Sanam most recently served as Senior Vice President, Digital Development & Renewal where she partnered with others across the enterprise to meet technology needs, customer expectations and support strong business operational efficiencies across the organization.

    Prior to joining MedImpact, Ms. Sanam founded a digital telehealth startup and held leadership positions over the past 20 years in software development, architecture, security, compliance, and analytics, managing product design and client relationships in technology, and digital health strategies in health care and life sciences companies including Optum and Payer Solutions.

    Ms. Sanam holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Cleveland State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Osmania University.
